This past Halloween weekend, Artistic Tile invited Carolina Tile & Stone, and a select group of distributors from around the U.S., to attend seminars held at their headquarters in Secaucus, NJ & showrooms in NYC. These seminars were led by tile industry experts from the company and covered a variety of topics including design, selection, production and installation.
Jill Cohen, VP of the Design Department, described where some of Artistic Tile’s many new ideas for products come from. For instance, a recent collaboration with jewelry designer Lauren Harper was shared. Nancy Epstein, Artistic Tile’s Founder and CEO is a long time client of Lauren’s and had been wanting to create a line based off of her jewelry for some time now. We also learned about the latest designs for glass mosaics, small porcelain floor tiles, new geometric mosaics and economically priced porcelain.
Tile and Stone
We spent time reviewing and evaluating with Carol Schreck-Butsko-VP of Sales, Wholesale Division, different types of stone and porcelain. We discussed the variations that exist in natural materials, the origins of “imperfections,” or organic qualities, and how this diversity changes with the age or depth of the mine or quarry where the stone comes from. Shown on the floor are different types of travertine, marble, and porcelain.
Gerard Esmail — VP of Operations, described in detail the processes used to cut, shape, polish and package tile and stone products for customers. He discussed in depth details regarding the waterjet machines and how they’re programmed to make precise cuts using software and natural resources. We also learned how Artistic Tile uses solar power for all manufacturing processes, recycles leftover stone into sidewalks for NYC, and recycles the water they use to power their machines. On the table shown are different types of blades used to cut tile and stone.

They experienced firsthand Artistic Tile’s passion for tile design, their attention to details and their unwavering high standards for quality tile products. These qualities make Artistic Tile a good business partner and a one of a kind tile distributor.
