Unique History and Journey of the Owners

Carolina Tile & Stone, Inc.

Les and Alicja Kudla

Carolina Tile & Stone’s owners, Les and Alicja Kudla, moved to America in 1982, with a 1-year old daughter, to escape martial law in Krakow, Poland. They came to the United States with dreams of more prosperous lives. They established themselves in Charlotte, N.C. and more than 30 years later, own a thriving business, remain close to their children and grandchildren, and could not be more proud and thankful for their opportunities.

Four years after arriving in America, they began to find their niche while working as tile installers. They continued to dream, learned the tile and stone business from all angles, and 15 years later they opened their first tile and stone showroom in Charlotte, N.C. Since re-locating to Cornelius, N.C., just north of Charlotte, they have created a lodge-style showroom located at 19020 Statesville Road. Their familiarity with the tile and stone business and their experience as installers has proved to be extremely beneficial, because they understand the nuances of everything from selecting tiles and pricing jobs to estimating time requirements. They are mindful of the ever-changing tile business while maintaining their traditional and authentic values. Most importantly, the team at Carolina Tile & Stone is attentive to client’s needs and does its best to maximize the return on every client’s investment dollars, so clients always benefit.
