We were glad to host the Interior Design Society (IDS) of Charlotte’s annual holiday party at our showroom in Cornelius NC. IDS members are men and women who share a common passion, creating the home of your dreams. Through education and experience  members offer expert guidance from planning to installation. Carolina Tile & Stone is an active member and supporter.

IDS members were asked to bring an unwrapped toy or book for donation to Toys for Tots, and a wrapped gift for a “members only” gift exchange. Carolina Tile & Stone organized a scavenger hunt to help members explore the showroom while identifying tiles based on clues provided in detailed descriptions.

Making A Contribution Through Toys for Tots of Charlotte

In keeping with the spirit of the group and the season, IDS members brought multiple gifts for Toys For Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. Scavenger Hunt For Tiles

Scavenger hunt participants were given a clue sheet with descriptions–similar to the one below–for three tiles located in different areas of the showroom. Prizes were awarded to the first three to finish.

“I am an elegant, patterned single piece of tile resting against two larger boards. I am made of a light brown stone and my design is composed of four interconnected, swirly circles. My center and outer edges display unique, leafy flowers and my dimensions are 6”x6”. I have stickers on my back colored green and I hope these clue’s aren’t too obscene.”

“I have a pearly glow and an ultra-luxe look. I also have six sides and am displayed upon a shelf on a 6”x12”white board next to my long, round counterpart. The stickers on my backside are blue so good luck navigating these clues! “

“I am the biggest hunt of them all! I am a 14”x14” board hanging on a wall and I’m made of 15 corresponding pieces to make a gorgeous 3D image. My design is a collection of vines, leaves, flowers, and berries all in a blue hue. Tilt me forward and lift me up to get to my stickers colored red. But please, make sure not to drop me on your head.”
